However far into five-digit land these new pieces by Bottega Veneta ascend, they are totally worth it.

The publicity ho unleashed! David Carr opens today’s Media Equation column – ostensibly about Facebook — with a wink-wink plug for his crack memoir. Here’s hoping the book is more revealing than the disappointingly smug and surfacey article adaptation in the Sunday Magazine. Not that it matters. Carr is the reporter everybody is buzzing about right now, and for sure he’ll get a gazillion friend requests following the column divulging his Facebook addiction. Everybody wants to ride those cleaned-up, crack-strewn coattails. Including me.
