My cousin is the Shoe-Ru of Canada, attending to the sartorial slipper needs of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fergie and other fussy celebrities. Every couple years he returns from the shows in Milan announcing that purple is huge for fall. Then fall arrives, and I never see anybody wearing purple. I recently asked him if the industry’s purple push ever translates into sales. “Never,” says the Shoe-Ru. “It’s too florid and queer, even for a flamer like me.”

So, ladies of Lucky , promoting purple that’s flouncy is either a stupid or brilliant disregard of history. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you though.
